They have a different diopter assembly on the eyepiece with very smooth adjustment range, and an aggressive knurling on the objective lens end. They offer excellent optical properties as tested on our Hoffman 126A comparable or exceeding typical milspec lenses from Fujinon, Qioptic and others. These lenses came standard on a series of factory direct Photonis PVS-14s we purchased last year but ultimately harvested the tubes from for other projects, leaving these housings open to build with other intensifiers. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eAdjustable Gain\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003ePVS-14s have variable gain adjustment and control. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eGain control gives the user the ability to increase or decrease the tube brightness.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eUnder extremely dark conditions, variable gain (also referred to as manual gain) allows the user to adjust the gain upward, giving a brighter image. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eUnder higher light conditions, the user can decrease the gain for a cleaner image or to prevent the washout of fine details in high light.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAdditional features of the PVS-14 include an onboard IR illuminator and a red LED indicator light (light pipe) internal to the device (behind the tube) which signals IR is active or battery is low.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe PVS-14 allows the user to retain their night adapted vision in one eye while viewing their illuminated surroundings through eyepiece of the PVS-14.
